In the Brazilian states of Goiás and Mato Grosso, construction is steadily advancing on the FICO railway bridge project — an initiative hailed as a game-changer for the country’s logistics landscape. As a key participant, CXHI has successfully completed the manufacturing and shipment of over a thousand tons of bridge steel structures. The modules have now arrived at the project site, marking a significant contribution of “Made in China” excellence to this strategic corridor.
A Strategic Project: The “Golden Corridor” Reshaping Brazil’s Logistics
Central-West Brazil is known as one of the world’s breadbaskets. However, agricultural exports from the region have long been constrained by high logistics costs and inefficient transport routes. The FICO railway bridge — part of the broader Midwest Integration Railway — is designed to overcome this bottleneck. By establishing a direct rail link from the inland grain-producing regions to the Port of Ilhéus on the Atlantic coast, the project will replace long-haul trucking with a far more efficient mode of transport, significantly reducing travel distance and time, and lowering logistics costs. This will help revitalize the regional economy and enhance the global competitiveness of Brazilian agricultural products, making the project a true milestone in reshaping the nation’s logistics framework.
A Core Role: Delivering Thousands of Tons of Steel Structures with Excellence
As a Chinese partner to Vale, the project’s investor, CXHI was entrusted with the fabrication of approximately 2,000 tons of steel structures for the bridge — a testament to the company’s strong technical expertise and robust quality management system. The scope of work includes eight bridge sections, comprising a total of 32 large modular segments. This order reflects not only the scale of the undertaking but also the high level of international recognition CXHI has earned in manufacturing capabilities and quality assurance.
Technical Craftsmanship: High-Standard Weathering Steel and Precision Modular Fabrication
To ensure long-term durability in a natural environment, the project utilizes ASTM A588 Grade B high-strength weathering steel throughout. Each bridge module is precisely constructed with 3.3m-high BH main beams, a series of 0.5m-high BH secondary beams, and a complete support system, resulting in final dimensions of 3.5m (height) × 3.4m (width) × 32.5m (length). This high-standard, modular fabrication approach fully demonstrates CXHI’s deep expertise in heavy steel structures and its precision-driven quality control capabilities.

Efficient Delivery: Leveraging Logistical Advantages to Support Global Supply Chains
Located in the Hongqiao Industrial Park in Taixing, Jiangsu, CXHI benefits from its proximity to the Taixing Port Terminal — a strategic location that enables a seamless “factory-to-port-to-globe” logistics system. Thanks to this advantage, all modules for the FICO project were efficiently shipped directly from the facility, with a maritime transit time of just one and a half months to Brazil, ensuring a stable and timely global supply chain for the project.
